HOME Made love

I completed this just before going to the hospital and after 4 days of brainstorming.
that year, I made flowers for teachers' day using 3-d punches, straws, wires & papers. lots of work and lots of fun.. and I wanted to remember this effort of mine! in a layout..

here's what I did..
1.I used different shades of green paper and did a paper mache as the first layer. I sprayed some brown mists, added more gesso, more paper mache & some red mists too..
2. then I used a brick stencil.
3. I used ice-cream sticks to create the frame as I didn't have pretty chipboard frames. *cheapo*
4. initially, my photos were 100% coloured. however, no matter what i did for the layout, it looked weird and I finally decided to go for grayscale and it worked out fine. (i'm beginning to see a reason)
5. I altered the rose blooms using gesso to achieve the colour scheme I wanted. It was very fun and rewarding to it taking shape.I'm also beginning to see how others are able to achieve certain MM effects.
6. I altered multi-colour mulberry leaves to green.
7.I dry-brushed small flowers to gesso to tone down its brightness.
8. ( altered my letterings too. as i didn't have it in the colour I wanted.
then I assembled it altogether.

wasn't too bad .... :)
please feel free to leave your comments.
have a great day!
