Perfect

I have been scrapping, but have not been publishing. :)
Here's 1 that I've done recently.

I've used Prima's Opal Magic for the background. It's quite an exciting medium to use and I am very amazed and pleased with the effect.

some little details...
4 big flowers and 2 small little flowers...

I've learnt to emboss with different colours and it's really nice. gives a lot of different dimensions to a simple chipboard.
The chipboard frame was from an ezty shop jittobearco.

I love to layer, but I'm not a huge fan of too much layering. I tend to the "less is more" style. (I hope).

Baby album : Jerome

Here's another baby mini album that I've made for a friend's baby...
These days, babies have everything they need. These little albums are perhaps a better keepsake and memory for them.

Baby album: Penny

My cousin-in-law had a new baby recently and I made her an album.

I've changed the format of the album.
After (almost) completing my son's 1 year album and making a few baby albums, I realized it can be quite challenging to put a photo monthly.

Being a mum, I know, just how hard it is to remember to take a photo for each milestone so that you can stick in the baby album.

Hence, with this album, I've only put a few key pages (a) welcome baby (b) Dad (c) Mum (d) My family and the rest are pretty much "free-style" pages.
No headers, some embellishments with or without photo mats and the freedom to put in photos for any occasions.

With this, I've enclosed stickers and some embellishments for the new mum so that she too can enjoy sticking embellishments in the album. It's really so fun :)

Sooo.. here's a peek at the insides of the album.
Essentially, spaces to put in photos and spaces to journal.
I hope it will be fun :)

Love

My Hubby saw my previous layout and complained that he was neglects vis-a-vis my son! haha... so I decided to do a layout of him and me. Except that it's so hard to find a decent photo. Nonetheless, I found one.

I took this during one of our lunches together.
Hubs works quite close to home, so sometimes he would drive home for lunch, impromptu. We went out for lunch and a coffee together. It's a little time together in the midst of our busy schedule.

For this layout, I started with white cardstock.
I put white gesso on it.
Sprayed mist on it, 3 colours. Dark red, pink and a light tinge of orange

Then I mixed some modelling paste with 13@arts red Ayeeda paint and put it through a stencil.
(I initially wanted to do a whole page, but since the stencil was only 6 * 9inches, I ended up with this pattern, which I thought was better than thought).

I then used gelato, 3 greens to create the green background. I smudged the ends. That's it for my background.

I used the sentiment from 2crafy, with some flowers from Prima, die-cut borders and some bling. and it's done.

Some close-ups below

Please do leave some comments and feedback! Thanks!

March challenges - Bliss

I'm entering this layout for 2 challenges.

Having a boy after 3 girls is more than 'bliss' for me, it's a feeling of gratitude to God and contentment. However, having 4 kids is always quite a crazy busy time.

Here, I used clear gesso to prime the paper from the Blue Fern Studio's Autumn Anthology series, followed by some resist-stamping of sentiments in the background.  I also added some blue washi tape. I then used water-downed white gesso to paint over the washi tapes so that I can add more colours with gelatos.

I added some blue microsphere for texture and used red glass glitter for accent.

I added red flower stickers and flowers for the finishing touch.

I did some random stamping on the sentiment. Then I added blue paint & mist to water-downed white gesso

Red stickers sticking out, with red glass glitter and red roses.

Satw Nov 2015 challenge

Ok.. I'm getting a bit addicted to challenges. It gives me a structure to plan my layout. Mixed media can be so limitless that I get a little lost. So, I was actually eagerly waiting for November to come so that I can see what is the new challenge :)

There is it.
Scrap Around the World November challenge

When I saw the header "The most wonderful time of the year", immediately I thought about birthdays. You see, my 3 girls' birthday are all in November. all 3 of them within 10 days apart of each other. Some call it "good planning", I call it 'stress'. November has become a busy time for me as I start preparing for their birthdays and buying presents for them.
To add a little more to the 'history' of the layout, my hubby once again commented that I scrap single photos.
What's a better opportunity to do a multiple photo layout than this challenge? It's almost brainless!
I took their individual photos with their cakes from last year :)

The main colours of the challenge is white, light blue with a pop of red. I tried my best to keep to that :)
The "birthday wishes" chipboard were from an Etsy Store "jittobearco". The long flower chipboard is from 2crafy.
I sprayed some blue on the background, before placing my doilies. A large 1 and 2-halves of a small doily. I painted white + iridescent medium on the flower chipboard to give it shine, before dabbing modeling paste on it for relief. Then I painted it white again.
I also dripped white paint on the top & bottom. I was imagining icicles (from snow) but it also looks like cream from their birthday cakes! :)
Light blue buntings & cord for the celebratory mood and some embellishments.
I really had fun doing this.
I love my kids and each of them are so different. They are the reason why I scrap.
Some closeup below.

Please feel free to leave me some comments for improvement!
Have a great November :)
